Edpuzzle was officially founded in 2013, but the real story goes back much further. Before Edpuzzle existed as it’s known today, our CEO, Quim Sabrià, was working as a math teacher in Barcelona in the Teach for All program. To deal with high absenteeism, he started creating his own video lessons so that he could reach all of his students, even the ones who weren't showing up to class.
These videos were the first seeds that would grow into Edpuzzle.Quim took his ideas to his friends, Jordi Gonzalez, Santi Herrero, and Xavi Vergés. They knew they could build a website to take the idea of video learning to the next level, but they also knew they'd need funding. So the four friends headed off to Silicon Valley, where Edpuzzle went from dream to reality. Since then, Edpuzzle has grown to host millions of teacher-created video lessons and our own original content in almost every country around the world, all thanks to the teachers who put their faith in Edpuzzle and helped spread the word.
